At the head of the Insula orchestra, Laurence Equilbey once again passionately defends the repertoire of Louise Farrenc, this unjustly forgotten 19th century composer. Her Symphony No. 1 reveals a remarkable technical mastery. Echoing Beethoven’s Concerto for violin, performed by Alexandra Conunova, this concert proves that romanticism is served as well by men as by women.
