BEETHOVEN’S NINTH SYMPHONY

Program

Ludwig van Beethoven
Symphonie n° 9

Born in December 1770, Beethoven deserves a proper 250th birthday celebration! Hence this performance of the celebrated 9th Symphony by two orchestras, no less: Insula and the orchestra of Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and two choirs, accentus and the Hamburg Radio choir. A massive line-up for this Franco-German assertion of the values expressed in the “Ode to Joy”: fraternity, exaltation and universality.
